Last January, more than 700 students of Boracay National High School attended the orientation on Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) campaign with the theme: “Kabataang Bagani, Bagong Bayani”.
Grade 7 students attended the orientation on January 22, while Grade 8 and 9 students joined on January 29 and 30 respectively.
A video clip that discussed on CPP/NPA/NDF and other terrorist groups, and harmful effects of illegal drugs was shown before the discussion.
PCMS Christopher D Mendoza, PCR PNCO discussed the topics on illegal drugs: Cause and effects. While PEMS Lyn Ibañez, Chief of Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), discussed the of R.A. 7610 (Anti-Child Abuse Act), basic rights and responsibilities of the child and other child protection related topics.
PCMS Mendoza also talked about the responsible use of social media and cyber bullying: A Community Concerned. This was to address the growing problem of bullying inside and outside the premises of the said school.
Crime prevention tips were distributed to the participants immediately after the lecture.
The activity earned a positive feedback from the participants and the school management, who in return, extended their wholehearted thanks to Malay PNP for conducting this very informative campaign.
