Since opening its doors in 2014, this award-winning boutique hotel has continued to make its mark on Boracay’s accommodation scene, and it is now lauded as one of the island’s most desirable small luxury establishments, being the proud recipient of two World Luxury Hotel accolades.
Situated in the tranquil Angol area, towards the southern end of the famous White Beach, Villa Caemilla offers a sense of warmth and genuine comfort often unmatched by some of the island’s much larger and more generic resort hotels, combining professional service and amenities with a welcome dose of real island hospitality.
The personal touch begins with a private shuttle service from the jetty port (where upon arrival, guests are greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a cool towel, and are adorned with a pretty shell necklace by the friendly and accommodating staff) and continues throughout the duration of your stay.
The care and attention to detail is immediately apparent, and aside from the picturesque beachfront locale, there are a number of factors which conspire to make Villa Caemilla a truly outstanding choice.
The Location
Villa Caemilla is situated directly on the beach front, on a quiet and peaceful stretch of Boracay’s main White Beach, with a variety of popular restaurants and entertainment venues within easy reach, yet the hotel itself maintains an atmosphere of privacy, calm and tranquility, in the midst of this lively and vibrant island destination. Guests have the best of both worlds, with the bustling central hub of the island being just 15 minutes’ walk - or a five-minute shuttle ride – from the hotel, while the immediate area boasts pristine sands and a laid-back, peaceful atmosphere. Shoes are not required, as you can stroll directly onto the beach from the open lobby, bar and restaurant area.
The Rooms
With just 39 stylish and well-appointed rooms and suites, Villa Caemilla has a cozy and intimate feel. Four of the rooms boast stunning beachfront views, and this hotel is perfect for families, honeymooners or for an intimate couples’ getaway. Guests can even pre-request a special romantic room set-up, complete with rose petals and champagne, while therapists are also on-hand to treat you to a soothing massage or manicure/pedicure treatment, without needing to leave the comfort of your hotel room.
The Bar
The award-winning bar at Villa Caemilla boasts some truly unique and innovative cocktails, created in-house by their friendly and professional team of bartenders. Even perennial favorites have been upgraded with a slight twist, and the attention to detail and imaginative presentation serve to delight the eyes as well as the taste buds. The signature Lapu Lapu cocktail, for example, is a heady mix of sampaguita flower syrup, Tequila Silver and lemon, served in a beautiful native shell, while the rum-based Beach Comber cocktail has a fruity kick, with lemon and vanilla notes. Unsure what to choose? Your bartender will be more than happy to suggest something for you, and will tweak it to suit your own personal tastes.
Live acoustic musicians provide a mellow backdrop of sound at the bar after sunset, and be sure to catch a performance of classical Filipino dance and tinikling on selected evenings, to broaden your cultural horizons.
The Restaurant
The hotel’s spacious restaurant and bar area opens directly onto the White Beach, providing captivating views and magical sunset scenes to compliment your dining experience. With a varied, internationally-themed menu, the hardest part of your day may well be deciding what to have for dinner, with options including Thai, Malaysian and Italian specialties, as well as steak, seafood and baby back ribs.
A visit to Boracay would not, of course, be complete without sampling a delicious selection of grilled and sizzling seafood, and weekend nights at Villa Caemilla will not disappoint, with the sumptuous “Seafood Market” featuring all of your favorites, from lobster and king prawns to fresh fish, squid and shellfish. A Filipino buffet is also served on Tuesday evenings, showcasing the very best of local island cuisine, with something to please both newcomers and seasoned pinoy food aficionados
Eco Awareness
Boracay’s hospitality industry is fast waking up to the need to conserve, reuse and recycle, and Villa Caemilla is no exception, with a number of environmentally-sound and sustainable alternatives used in place of the usual throwaway plastic amenities. Upon arrival, guests are provided with a recyclable fabric eco-bag for use when shopping or as a beach tote, and the rooms are furnished with reusable canteens, which can be refilled with purified water free of charge, while restaurant beverages are served with either bamboo or metal drinking straws. To access the rooms, bamboo e-cards are also utilized in place of keys.
Activities
Boracay has a wealth of activities to choose from, and with options including luxury spa days and mellow yacht cruises to more adventurous pursuits such as kayaking, jungle trekking, cliff jumping, helmet diving, parasailing, stand-up paddle boarding and even helicopter tours, there’s really something to please almost everyone.
Nearby Panay and Carabao islands offer boundless opportunities for fun and exploration, and are easily accessible for day trips. The team at Villa Caemilla are on hand to advise you and help you to plan and arrange the perfect itinerary for your vacation.
With the perfect combination of warmth, luxury and laid-back island ambience, it is easy to see why this charming boutique hotel entices discerning travelers and beach lovers from around the globe. Make Villa Caemilla your first choice, on your next visit to Boracay Island.
Paint, Wine and Bites at Villa Caemilla
This unique, bi-weekly event is a fun and sociable way for island visitors and friends to meet and bond while learning basic to advanced painting skills.
Visual artist and teacher Eric Egualada will inspire even the most artistically-challenged of students to create their own beautiful masterpieces, in a relaxed and informal setting.
Hailing from Angono, Rizal, known as the “Art Capital of the Philippines”, Egualada spent 17 years teaching at the Regional School for the Arts, followed by almost ten years sharing his skills at schools and with the community in Laguna.
Having gravitated to Boracay’s sunny shores in March of this year, he has since immersed himself in teaching workshops and interactive art demonstrations to both young and mature students from all walks of life.
Says Eric, “My passion is to inspire and educate people to make the move for better expression,” And as such, he delights in introducing artistic pursuits to the previously uninitiated. “Art is for everyone,” he enthuses, “It is not a hobby for me; it’s my way of life, the home where my spirit dwells,” And his enthusiasm for his art is infectious, often awakening previously untapped creativity in those who attend his classes.
All materials are provided at the art workshops, including brushes, acrylic paints and your very own canvas to take home, and classes are held in the resort’s beach front bar and restaurant area, with cocktails and tasty bites available to order throughout the session.
